Fun bottle caps as promotional pieces for our brewery client prospects that show our passion for tasty beers and talent for designing patterns and thinking big by working small.

- We have a lot of love for the craft breweries working hard to bring us great beers, and that got us thinking we should bring our brand of style to them with something unique. Bottle caps are a great medium because they can be both fun and personal like a pin or badge, and we made these into magnets for easy display. It was a fun challenge to think big by designing for something small.

When I was in middle school my class was the first to get an orchestra program! I was a member of the Dexter Orchestra for 8 years and the entire time I had Mr. Parrish as my teacher. He was an amazing mentor and parental figure in my life. In July of 2010 he passed away from brain cancer. To honor his memory I designed this concert program for him.Graphic Design, Print Design, Performing Arts2011 -
Mobile apps are becoming a big deal. At Fizz, we realized this is perfect for wineries and breweries, where they have hordes of patrons sitting, talking, imbibing, and texting. These QR codes allow smart phone users to quickly link to four unique web addresses on our business website, each detailing a specific wine or beer that answers the question prompted on the printed coasters. We talk about our favorite beverages and some possible food pairings we like for each. A simple example of the potential for QR codes, and beautifully printed by our friends at Cranky Pressman.
They were featured on PaperSpecs gallery and they even made an awesome YouTube video explaining everything. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oF1u7OA6PMc

Using inspiration lyrics from one of my favorite Christmas movies, White Christmas, I created this card. I used rudolf as the main image for the front and used a few of my favorite fonts. I wanted the card to be mostly type heavy. The inside I put a picture of myself and my darling cat Caslon. I also wrote a short letter to sum up my favorite events of the year. Since I don't have a husband or kids I thought it would be smarmy to have a picture with my cat instead. The card was sent along in a stunning red envelop.Graphic Design, Print Design, Typography2011 -
North Tech is a small technical school in Missouri. They offer several programs for their students from art and design classes to certification for law enforcement. Their former catalog was created by their students and obviously needed a lot of work. They wanted a fresh approach to the material. Using provided text I created this catalog to help engage their students and excite them about potentially applying to the school.
The purpose of this book is to create ease of communication. I created a tab-like number system on the sides of the pages to help students move through the book easier. Also, each page is titled with that departments course offerings. For each course there are several beneficial outcomes (college credit, internship, scholarships, ect.) I chose to highlight those features using symbols to help aid in this communication.Graphic Design, Publishing2010 -
Letterpress business cards brewed up as retro style coasters on pulpy stock to soak up good design. Printed in 2 Pantones, these beauties won a 2011 AIGA Cleveland Design Award and an award by HOW + Print Color in Design.Branding, Graphic Design, Typography2010 -
Promotional letterpress notepads distributed at Weapons of Mass Creation, a Cleveland design festival. Each features a fun scavenger hunt cover so it can be used as an activity book as well as a sketchbook. In conjunction with Cranky Pressman.Branding, Design, Illustration2011 -
This beautiful letterpress postcard was created using found pieces at Cranky Pressman in Salem, Ohio. Inspiration came in finding the denture piece first and working around what I could create with it. I decided to create a play on words using "Design with Bite" as a double meaning between the bite of the letterpress and in reference to my own sense of style.Graphic Design, Print Design, Typography2010 -
These seasonal postcard promotions are light hearted approaches to cable marketing. Using provided text and design direction I had to create interesting visuals to entice potential customers to switch to Comcast.
The Enjoy the Ride postcard was designed with the instruction of using bikes in some way along with the headline "Enjoy the Ride". I wanted to make the postcard bright and cheery to reflect the vibrant spring feel they wanted to give. Most cable promotional cards are very informational dense so I wanted to give a lot of empty space to catch the viewers attention.
The summer postcard series is a couple variations of the same idea. Given the headline "Summer's Calling" I wanted to use talk bubbles to show different visuals of summer. Again making the postcard bright and cheerful to catch the viewers attention. Creating attention grabbing postcard pieces is extremely difficult so creating something that looks much different from what is currently available.Graphic Design, Print Design2010 -
Working with the concept heart sound I had to develop a new t shirt for the band Taking Back Sunday. Incorporating a vintage image of a heart I added horn elements to indicate the heart is a musical instrument. Being that many musicians have a passion for music beyond financial incentive this seemed like an appropriate analogy.Graphic Design, Illustration, Music2009 -
